Creating a cleaner, greener future
supporting our local community
Since inception, we have worked hard to balance the demands of starting our own business with investing time, effort and expertise into our local community. We believe it is vitally important to support local organisations and initiatives that promote a better understanding and relationship with nature.
We started our journey in 2018 supporting and representing Surfers Against Sewage. Earth Friendly Foodware joined SAS 250 Business Club and Andrew became SAS Community Lead in Westward Ho!

During lockdown, Andrew founded the Ban Cheap Bodyboard Campaign resulting in UK wide awareness of the dangers these items create. Westward Ho! became the first UK village to ban sales of these products acting as a catalyst for change across North Devon.

While the campaign to rid ourselves of single use oil-based plastic, grew; ReFuse & ReUse organised the UK's first Plastic Free Festive Fayre.

With UK Government minister support, the all day event included a children's story time with Wild Tribe Heroes plus an evening of speakers with local company's exhibiting their plastic free products and services.

The event was captured in the film, Westward Ho! Rises Against Plastic - a joint production between ReFuse & ReUse and North Devon Videography being nominated for an "Oscar" at the Global Film Sustainability Awards 2019.

We have provided time and expertise to support PFND's journey offering support at beach cleans, school talks and outreach events.
Today, North Devon Soap amplifies PFND's vision to reduce our dependence on single use plastic in the bathroom. You can find the OCEAN range of body wash and shampoo bars in their shop. Click here.
Hedwig's Hotel established a local facility to look after poorly hedgehogs found in the local Bideford community. Funded by themselves and personal donations, Hedwig's can be caring for up to 40 hedgehogs at a time!

Earth Friendly Foodware donates blue roll each month to the facility to remove this cost from their expenses.
